the exam briefing


“The briefing on 5/2/08 was recorded and uploaded to the google group. My apology for that i did not manage to record the medicine part. . However, all the briefing is about the allocated mark for the Theory(35%), Osce(35%) and continuous assessment(30%), what time we should be in the exam hall that day ( 30minutes before exam starts) and etc. The difference of earth shattering importance ( i learn this sentence from DR Ramesh) is the new system of allocation mark for JKM, There IS ONLY TWO COMPONENT namely 1. theory+OSCE 2.continuous assessment that means as long as we pass this two component, we will not fumble in 3rd year. This differS from previous batch where they need to pass 3 components that are 1. theory 2. OSCE 3.continuous assessment. Hopefully , this information and recorded sound will keep u all updated. Last but not least, HAPPY CNY and study hard. NB : remember to download the recorded briefing especially the JKM by Dr sharifah. ”

huiling did copy down the tips and call me in order to let me upload that for all of us,however,i need sumtime to figure out the tips and post it,dun worry,for those who cant get to see the video,u can assess the lastest blog after i post it..thx huiling,u did a good job

Really thanks them for giving me the tips, so that I can compile and post it here
Remember,we need to scold total of more than 50% for OSCE and theory as they are counted as one whole component now…thanks buddha, thanks god, thanks allah and etc

frequency intake…, Hv to know how to use the Malaysian food table…

MCH – primary health care- what is available, manpower involved in each category
Cold chain- the importance
Postnatal care- what we do during immunization, immunization schedule
School health care-unit sekolah(role,activities)

Occupational Health – Hazards, type, how 2 measure,risk assessment, what we do during walkthrough survey, how to eliminate risk (the hierarchy), the law involve, disease common in work place.

Health Services – Ministry involved (refer Dr. Sharifa’s Notes), local authority, private health care (include traditional??)

Referral system

HMIS – in which level can occur, have to know about d form, eg: the hitrax, the kad rekod kesihatan ibu, might come out in osce, ask us wat is that and wat’s the importance.

IK/Assistant Environment Health Officer/ PPKP/Health Inspector – food – what they do, water- what kind of test – biological physical chemistry, what were their work, may come out in EMI, ask us to match d work.

quality assurance

Health Promotion – Types of activity suitable for the community, for eg: what kind of promotion is suitable for mass activity (dr.khalid notes)

Epidemiology statistic – incidence, prevalence, types of disease – dengue, malaria, aedes index, breateu index, enforcement index, mortality index

Communicable and non communicable disease

Type of study design – eg: prevalence study  cross-sectional study
How to present the data – nominal, continuous, discrete in table, graph, chart??

Notification- what r the diseases

Malaria & Dengue – fogging, what we use, malaria control
Kajian Aedes – what to do, d procedure,
Aedes index *anyone who know how to calculate aedes
index,plz write as comment for us,please!!!

Wabak/outbreak – define, what we do, lecture by Dr. Shamsul (Year2), steps during outbreak, ACD, PCD

All the rate – mortality, morbidity

aedes index is (bil premis positive/bil premis dikaji *100%) if more than 2.5%, hv to do fogging n etc... Breateu index is (bil takung positive/100 houses) wat it mean, i dunno, taken from sze chet. she said she found it on internet n ask seniors...
